Traditional medicine, practised carefully

Consultations follow the traditional method — history, observation, pulse and tongue examination — and end with a plan that is explained in ordinary language: what will be done, how many sessions are reasonable, and how we will judge whether it is helping.

Acupuncture is most often used here for musculoskeletal pain, tension headaches, sleep difficulty, digestive complaints and stress-related symptoms. It is frequently combined with chiropractic and rehabilitation, because the two work on different parts of the same problem.

Needles are single-use and sterile. Common side effects are a small bruise, brief tiredness or a temporary increase in symptoms.

We do not use language about removing toxins, and we do not offer acupuncture as a treatment for cancer, infection or any condition that needs medical care. Herbal medicine is discussed with your other medications in mind.

What is included

The five services in this pillar

Used alone, or alongside chiropractic and rehabilitation in the same plan.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

A full TCM consultation and treatment plan. Useful when several complaints appear together — pain with poor sleep, fatigue or digestive symptoms — and you want them looked at as a pattern rather than separately.

Herbal medicine

Prescribed formulas from a licensed practitioner, adjusted at review. We ask for a full list of your current medicines and supplements first, and we will decline if there is a plausible interaction risk.

Acupuncture

Fine needles at selected points, retained for around twenty minutes. Most commonly used here for neck and back pain, tension headaches, sleep and stress-related complaints.

Cupping

Suction cups applied to the back or shoulders, static or moving, to work on muscular tension. It leaves round marks that fade over several days — worth knowing before an event or a beach holiday.

Esthetic acupuncture

Facial acupuncture aimed at local circulation and muscle tone, taken as a course of sessions. Effects are subtle and temporary, and we do not present it as an alternative to dermatological or cosmetic medical treatment.

Not suitable during pregnancy, with active skin infection or inflammation, or with recent injectable treatments — we will ask.

What a first visit looks like

Your first visit, step by step

An hour, ending with a plan you understand.

Consultation

Your main complaint, medical history, medications, sleep, digestion and stress — plus observation, pulse and tongue examination.

Explanation

What the pattern looks like in TCM terms, what that means in practice, and how many sessions are reasonable before we judge the result.

Treatment

Acupuncture, cupping or both, usually 30–45 minutes on the table in a quiet room.

Review point

We agree in advance when we will reassess — typically after four to six sessions — and we stop if it is not working.
